The schedule for the workshop is:

• 13.00-14.30: Intro, the concept for Ycity 2009, energizers, who are we? (a great guy, Isak Birkeskov, will be responsible for this part)
• 14.30-14.45: Break
• 14.45-15.30: The ideas for Ycity
• 15.30-16.15: Development of project ideas to Ycity 2009 (another great guy, Mikael H. Andersen, will be responsible for this part)
• 16.15-16.30: Break
• 16.30-17.30: Development of ideas, part II
• 17.30-18.00: Presentation of projects
• 18.00-?: Dinner and Ycity Party

The workshop will take place at “Projekthuset”:

The 2nd of May is your chance to hear more about Ycity, to develop your Ycity project among other participants and to have a fun day with lecture and concert at the Ycity Workshop in Copenhagen.

The workshop starts 1 pm and is a preparation for Ycity. Team Ycity will inform about the concept of Ycity and some practical information. Ycity will rise from the participants’ ideas and therefore the workshop will contain a ‘developing of dreams’ -workshop so we can make a picture of Ycity and buy the necessary materiel. The theme for the workshop is: What is the good city for you, and how can you make a change? Here is your chance to develope a project and combine your project with other Ycity citizens.

There will be a lecture about democracy and cities to challenge the traditional way of thinking democracy and cities and may give you some ideas for actions in Ycity and your local area.

At the end there will be a party and live music and it will not be boring!

The workshop will take place at a project center, Baunehøj, in Copenhagen (Enghavevej 80-82, 2450 Kbh. SV). There is S-train from Copenhagen central station to Enghave station.

Youth in Action supports youth projects with an European dimension. It aims to inspire a sense of active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans. Ycity 2009 applied Youth in Action, because the project’s objectives are to stimulate an active participation among youth and create transnational communities. 

The programme is divided into different actions, and Ycity applied the action for Youth Democracy Projects (action 1.3). Team Ycity handed in the application 1st of Februray and expects an answer in the middle of April.
