Ycity – Urban Action

Ycity – Urban Action consists of 3 parts: 1) A work camp 4 – 6 December 2009 about developing the Ycity Concept and creating actions in the public space, 2) a workshop at Climate Forum 8 December 2009 about climate changes and democracy and 3) the production of a Ycity Magazine. The objective of the project is to connect the Ycity Concept with the work for a sustainable development of the society and to spread the ideas and concept of Ycity.

Ycity 2009

Ycity 2009 took place in a former factory hall at Musicon in Roskilde, Denmark. From 20 to 26 July 50 action young people from Denmark, Sweden and Germany created a temporary city. The idea was to create an action community across borders. A community of young people creating local change in a global context. During Ycity 2009 the young people got tools to take action, performed their own actions, had a dialogue with invited decision makers and created future actions.

Ycity 2008

Ycity 2008 was the pilot project for Ycity 2009 and took place 17 – 21 July 2008 at Kulturfabrikken in Nykøbing Falster, Denmark.
