What is Ycity?
The Ycity Projects are youth democracy projects, where young people from different countries create temporary and virtual cities. In the cities you can create your own actions and projects together with others. The idea is to create an action community across borders and create a space for new forms of democracy and political participation. The Ycity Projects wish to spread a conception of democracy, where it is yourself who create society changes, but together with others – a local change in a global context.
It’s important that democracy is not reduced to a cross In a voting cabinet and not only leaved to politicians. It’s important to motivate youth and give them tools to create own initiatives with a society changing perspective. It’s important to work for a democracy which is not closed in national containers, but expands across borders and create a global sustainable development.
