I have been a part of Team Ycity almost since the beginning. But the first project I participated in myself was the one of 2009 in Roskilde. It was such a great week; I still remember the amazing community spirit.
Now I am engaged in and dedicated to Ycity Productions as a project manager together with Rasmus. I have a strong feeling about this project; that it can make changes. A thing I like about Ycity is the giving and gaining. Everybody can contribute with something valuable. To me it is important to act; I am not interested in the role of a spectator.
Besides Ycity I have been doing a lot of other volunteer work; from helping school kids with their homework to farming in an organic collective in the jungle of Peru. This brings me to another very important thing in my life – travelling. Mostly I have travelled in Europe and South America. And in the autumn of 2012 I am off again, this time to Asia.
The YCITY Process manager is the coordinator of the learning and activity frame of the project. It’s the managers responsibility to co-create and overview the frame for the learning experience of the participants. Some of the task that defines the work is mapping out, describing and communicating the learning possibilities of the project. Also talking to the external trainers and together with them plan out the workshops that are planned for the event as well as facilitating some of the workshops. My name is Morten Hansen, I’m 28 years old and live near Copenhagen, Denmark. I earn my daily bread, working in a kindergarten where I make activities and projects with the children. As far as my motivation for being a part of YCITY and Team YCITY goes I would say it’s the chance of doing something I love and something I’m good at. I love working with changes and for me the catalyst for change is knowledge, knowing what we want to change, how we want to change it and why we want to change it.
My name is Rasmus Christensen i’m 26 years and live in Copenhagen. I'm originally from another part of Denmark, Jutland.
I have been a part of a wide variety of different NGOs in Denmark since I was about 17 years, and I started my way in a local Youth Red Cross Group, and have been working nationally and locally with youth councils in Denmark.
I’m currently taking a bachelor in social work in Copenhagen and using a lot of time with the Ycity Project.
There’s a lot of reasons, that i’m engaged in Ycity. For one Ycity makes me see other young people have some of their dreams fulfilled. And next i’m a part of changing the way we look upon democrazy, in a western context. The influenze in a democrazy to day is far away from the individual, and we should make an effort to make people have influenze in their daily lifes.
Ycity will give YOU an ability to make a change. What’s your dream? – lets make it happen.
My name is Jakob Villadsen and I'm project manager for the Ycity Projects. I'm engaged in Ycity because I think it's important to develop new spaces for political action. I think it's essential for humans to do something bigger than one self and to take initiatives with a society changing perspective. Furthermore a global sustainable development is closely connected to the development of new spaces for political action.
In Ycity I do a lot of fundraising and sketch the strategic development of Ycity. I also secure that Ycity's bookkeeper, Ketty, do her work... When I not do Ycity I study sociology at Roskilde University. I also work as student assisant in the municipality of Holbæk.
